Model Information: Standard steel containers available separately, with different loading capacity, paints and inscriptions, allowing the quick and easy transshipment and transport of goods by rail, on lorries or on ship. When stored piled up on each other these sturdy large containers impressively put stations and terminals into the limelight as points of intersection in the international goods traffic.
Prototype History:
The 40 foot container is the king of the container business. It is the most common standard container size used for international and domestic shipping. Most intermodal operations that handle overseas shipping are optimized for this container size. These containers are typically reinforced for loading, unloading and transportation by ship.

Dry containers are meant for non-refrigerated goods and hence are the most common type.

Road Name History:
CAST was a Belgium based logistics company which operated between Montreal and Antwerp. In 1982 it was on the verge of bankruptcy because of a downturn in the world economy, depressed bulk shipping rates and the cost of acquiring three new Korean-built vessels valued at $180 million. It was rescued from bankruptcy by a $200-million package backed by the Bank of Montreal and the Royal Bank.
Brand/Importer Information:
Faller is a German toy company founded in Stuttgart in 1946 by brothers Edwin and Hermann Faller. The company later relocated to the brothers' home town of Gütenbach in the Black Forest.

Faller now specializes in making scenery, plastic model kits and other accessories for model railroads but has manufactured a range of toys during its history, such as model aeroplane kits, the Auto Motor Sport (AMS) slot car racing sets and die-cast model cars. Their modern product line includes railway structures, houses and commercial buildings, bridges, amusement rides and terrain accessories in H0, N, TT and Z scales, as well as the Car System. Since 1997 Faller also owns the Pola brand, which is now solely devoted to G scale structures.

Faller's older toys and models can be highly collectable today, together with their early product catalogues.
