For ScaleTrains brand 53' dry box container. These injection molded, retro-fit underframes have three magnets each, metal top plates and new 'IBC' pin locations that match up with ISO 40' containers or two 20' containers to allow stacking on top. The IBC pins mate with JTC 40' HC containers with magnets, JTC 20' std. containers with magnets; JTC open/canvas top containers with magnets, the Atlas 40' container, and future JTC 1:160 scale containers.

Outer magnets align with the center of the JTC 20' containers.
Model Information: ScaleTrains.com kicked off its entry into N Scale market in 2016 with the introduction of its line of 53 foot containers.

A ScaleTrains.com "Operator" model with fewer factory-applied parts and simplified printing; designed from builder?s drawings and photographs, these products are built for modelers who enjoy running high-quality, realistic trains at an affordable price.
Prototype History:
An intermodal container is a large standardized shipping container, designed and built for intermodal freight transport, meaning these containers can be used across different modes of transport – from ship to rail to truck – without unloading and reloading their cargo. Intermodal containers are primarily used to store and transport materials and products efficiently and securely in the global containerized intermodal freight transport system, but smaller numbers are in regional use as well. These containers are known under a number of names, such as simply container, cargo or freight container, ISO container, shipping, sea or ocean container, container van or (Conex) box, sea or c can.

Unlike 20ft and 40ft shipping containers | storage containers, 53ft shipping containers | storage containers are not utilized for international shipping. They are used primarily for domestic over the road and rail service. High Cube shipping containers are 9ft 6in tall on the exterior. They are 1ft taller than standard height containers. They are also 8ft 6in wide, making them 6in wider than standard containers as well. They are commonly made from 14-gauge corrugated steel. They typically have lockable double doors on one end. They are commonly equipped with 1-1/8” thick marine plywood flooring on the interior.

53ft high cube shipping containers | storage containers are perfect for commercial, industrial and rural storage applications.

Road Name History:
Although they may be molded in color, unpainted and unlettered, undecorated products are marketed to modelers who seek to custom decorate their models for private roads and/or road and/or company names that were not commercially produced by any of the major manufacturers.

Undecorated models are frequently also unassembled or only partially assembled and required modelers to be comfortable with glue, paint and sometimes solder in order to prepare their models for display. Materials for these models can vary but often include plastic, pewter and resin. Models may or may not come with decals or other decorations such as plastic signage, railings and ladders to enhance the appearance of the final product.
