Company History: This line switched the sprawling 235 acre General Motors complex in Flint, Michigan known as “Buick City.” There had been manufacturing here since 1904 but it was in the 80s following plant reorganizations that GM named the complex Buick City. GM owned the railroad but it did have its own board and officers so on paper at least it was a bit more than an intra-plant switching operation. Most of the plant closed in 1999 and apparently the railroad closed along with it.
