Prototype Information: This is a track analyzer/ geometry car.. those little wheels are lowered when the car is testing track.. These look for defects in the rail that are FRA out of service defects.. The larger rairoads have there own cars as this was a prototype for the UP. The UP has a more modern type now. UP 1950 is the new version. The EM80C is one of the older types. It is an obscure thing.
