Road Name History:
THURBO is a railway company in eastern Switzerland, jointly owned by Swiss Federal Railways SBB (90%) and the canton of Thurgau. The railway operates commuter services in Eastern Switzerland. The towns that it serves are typically smaller cities with lighter demand for rail services. Hence the fleet mostly consists of smaller, single-level railcars appropriate for the lower volumes required. All of the current fleet (2017) consists of Stadler GTW 2/6 railcars which are made locally in Switzerland.
