Company History: The FRR was launched in 1996 by the Genesee Valley Transportation shortline group to take over operation of Conrail’s (formerly New York Central) Falls Road Branch. It runs from Lockport to Brockport, New York, a distance of 42 miles. Most of the traffic is from an ethanol plant in Medina. Like their sister roads in the GVT shortine family, FRR is Alco powered with a former New York Central RS-36 and former Nickel Plate RS-11 doing the honors.
Brief History: The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
