Company History: The CTXR was established in 2016 when the OmniTRAX shortline group purchased the Heart Of Texas Railroad. This 68 mile line connects Brady, Texas to the BNSF mainline at Lometa. A new concrete trestle over the Colorado River has replaced the original wood trestle which burned down in 2013 under the previous owner. Traffic includes aggregates, grain, feed, building products and frac sand. However, heavy costs to upgrade the line and a failure of traffic to develop as hoped has led OmniTRAX to apply to abandon this line.
