Description2+2 Flaring Vase
Stylistic FeatureFlare Shape

Notes: The Mottled Verdi Green Patina on Bronze is Very Vibrant and extremely well executed. It display a deep mottled Green from 1/4 from the bottom to just shy of the top rim. Even the under side bottom of the Vase shows some of this deep rich Patina. There are 7 concentric rings at the bottom. Five of these are wide with 2 of them above being very fine. The top lip shows this same style of rings but there are only 2. One Thin and one thick. This kind of gives this Vase an art Deco flavor.
Dimensions: j8 1/4" High x 7 1/2" Diameter
Manufacturer History: Carl Sorensen produced most of his work in Philadelphia in the early 20th century. He focused his metalwork in copper and bronze desk accessories and decorative pieces. Sorensen later became a designer for Tiffany Studios in New York and not much information is known on his subsequent career.

The majority of Carl Sorensen's work can be easily distinguished from other Arts and Crafts metalwork with his use of a distinct verdigris patina and inlaid bronze bands. Many of Sorensen's pieces are marked with his logo of an "S" inscribed within a "C" and "Carl Sorensen" in script. Vases are prominent among Sorensen's work with their flared form, mottled green tone, and copper rings on the rim or base.
