Road Name History:
The TTC was established in 1921 when the franchise of Toronto Railway Company came to an end and its lines were combined with the Toronto Civic Railways to provide streetcar service in Toronto, Ontario. Much of the early fleet consisted of Peter Witt design cars. The first PCC cars (which gained the nickname Red Rockets on the TTC) began arriving in 1938. The last of the Peter Witt cars were retired in 1963 while the PCC cars lasted until 1995. Today, the TTC system includes 51 miles of line split between 10 routes. They attract a quarter of a million riders on a typical weekday, riding a fleet of 204 Flexity cars built by Bombardier. At first glance, one might think the line is standard gauge but in fact it is broad gauge: 4’ 10 7/8”.
Brand/Importer Information:

The Spectrum line is the high quality, model railroad product line, offered in N, HO, Large Scale, On30, and Williams O gauge all aimed for the hobbyist market. Bachmann is the producer of the famous railroad village product line known as "Plasticville." The turnover for Bachmann model trains for the year ended 31 December 2006 was approximately $46.87 million, a slight increase of 3.36% as compared to 2005.
