Specific Item Information: Laser cut fertilizer supply company (or fertilizer plant as we call them in the Midwest) with trackside unloading capable of receiving dry fertilizer in bulk from railroad hopper cars. Fertilizer is moved from trackside with a series of augers and conveyers to storage bins inside the building. Fertilizer is then mixed to customer specifications and loaded in spreaders with a smaller conveyer which may be installed on the endwall or sidewall of our kit. The fertilizer company or farmers using spreader wagons or spreader trucks would then apply the fertilizer to the fields. Some plants also packaged fertilizer mixes in smaller sacks for retail sales to homeowners and gardeners. Bulk application of synthetic fertilizer has been a common agricultural process all over the USA since the 1940's. Fertilizer buildings such as this one are nearly as common as grain elevators in diesel era rural America. This style of fertilizer plant would be suitable from the 1960's to today in any farming area in the USA and Canada. Kit features laser-cut floor, sub-roof and walls with tab and slot connections. Also includes laser-cut peel-n-stick trim, doors, windows, window glazing and roofing for easy assembly. Laser-cut truck loading conveyer may be installed on the end or side. Bucket elevator with hopper car unloading pan, ladder, handrails and control cabinet included. Also includes signs for Agway, Farm Bureau Coop, Farmland Coop, FS Fertilizer, Lone Star Fertilizer, Southern States and more. N scale kit dimensions: 5.00" x 4.00" (conveyer on side), 6.50" x 3.00" (conveyer on end)
Road Name History:
Commercial structures are any buildings or other man-made structures whose principal purpose is trade. These can be high-rise officer towers, gas stations or fruit stands. Any structure where end-user customers come to buy things from sellers of that product or service are consider commercial structures.

This group will therefore include quite large as well as quite small buildings. Models of these buildings might be kits or pre-assembled. They might be painted or undecorated. They might come with a host of accessories and figures or they might be fairly Spartan.
