Designer: Christian Gobrecht
Composition: 90% Silver - 10% Copper
History: The Seated Liberty portrait design first appeared on the dime in 1837, and ran through 1891 when it was replaced by the Barber dime. The design features the Goddess of Liberty reclining with a shield. The Seated Liberty dime was minted at the main United States Mint in Philadelphia, as well as the branch mints in New Orleans, San Francisco, and Carson City. The coin weighs in at 2.67 grams and is composed of Coin Silver (90% silver, 10% Copper).

There are five major types in this series as well as variations and several major errors. The 1867P seems to be the rarest with only 6,625 made.
