Company History: CBRW was born in 1996 when BNSF re-purchased the Washington Central Railroad that they had spun off a decade before in order to re-open the Stampede Pass line as a through route. The Temple family who owned the Washington Central were left with a pair of lines running from the yard in Warden, Washington. One of these lines is a former Milwaukee Road route west to Othello and the other is a north-south route that was formerly part of Northern Pacific. The Temple family established the Columbia Basin Railroad to operate these lines.
Brief History: The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
