Prototype History:
The Citroën Traction Avant was a range of mostly 4-door saloons and executive cars, with four or six-cylinder engines, produced by the French manufacturer Citroën from 1934 to 1957. Approximately 760,000 units were produced.
Traction Avant was not the official name and the cars were designated by their fiscal horsepower: Citroën 7CV, 11CV (4 cyl.) or 15CV (6 cyl.). It was available in 3 different wheelbases: short (7 and 11-light), normal (11 and 15) and long (11-long and 15 limousine).

The Traction Avant pioneered mass-production of three revolutionary innovations widely adopted since, and still used today: front-wheel drive, four-wheel independent suspension, and the use of a crash resistant, unitary, monocoque body. Additionally, the car was one of the earliest mass-production adopters of rack and pinion steering.
Although the car's name emphasized its front-wheel drive power delivery ("Traction Avant" literally means front-wheel drive) – the car stood out at least as much by its much lower profile and stance – made possible by the absence of a separate chassis under the car's unitary body – sharply distinguishing it visually from its contemporaries.

Road Name History:
Although they may be molded in color, unpainted and unlettered, undecorated products are marketed to modelers who seek to custom decorate their models for private roads and/or road and/or company names that were not commercially produced by any of the major manufacturers.

Undecorated models are frequently also unassembled or only partially assembled and required modelers to be comfortable with glue, paint and sometimes solder in order to prepare their models for display. Materials for these models can vary but often include plastic, pewter and resin. Models may or may not come with decals or other decorations such as plastic signage, railings and ladders to enhance the appearance of the final product.

Brand/Importer Information:
RAILNSCALE is a Dutch company founded in 2009 that designs model vehicles and rail accessories, mostly European, for all Epochs. They started with N scale (1:160) and expanded their range to other scales: 1:87 (HO), 1:120 (TT), 1:144, 1:148 (British N gauge).
They actually don't manufacture their models themselves, that can be printed at Shapeways (hence available worldwide), or for part of the range be ordered printed and packaged at DM-Toys for N scale and Modellbahn Union for TT and HO scales, both in Germany (on-line stores).
