Transportation Company - Frankfort & Cincinnati - Railroad

Company History: F&C was a 40 mile shortline linking Frankfort with Georgetown and Paris, Kentucky. They never reached Cincinnati which is 70 miles to the north. The line was completed in 1890 under the Kentucky Midland name but received the F&C name in 1899. The line was kept in business by traffic from bourbon distillers. The Georgetown to Paris segment was abandoned in 1967 and was later trimmed back to Elsinore. A 1985 wreck damaged a trestle on the remaining line and that was that. The railroad closed that day and was scrapped 2 years later.
Brief History:
The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
