Company History: The GFR was launched in 1993 and operates less than four miles of former Canadian Pacific track from Castlegar to Grand Forks, British Columbia. The railroad is owned by International Forest Products and switches one of their mills. GFR’s only locomotive is a former CPR SW8. Their only connection is with the Kettle Falls International Railway. The GFR is thought to be the smallest shortline in Canada today.
