Company History: The B&QT was established in 1929 by Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit to operate the company’s streetcar lines in Brooklyn and Queens, New York. Routes also extended to Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge and the Williamsburg Bridge. B&QT was an early adopter of the PCC car, taking delivery of 100 cars in 1936. Control of the B&QT was turned over to the New York City Board of Transportation in 1940. Rail service ended in 1956.
