Company History: The JCAC switches the New Century Air Center industrial park located on the site of the former Johnson County Airport and Olathe Naval Air Station south of Kansas City. The county actually inherited the railroad from the Navy, who built the line before WWII in order to supply the air station. The county took control of the property in 1973 but it was another five years before the railroad was used again for the new industrial tenants. A former US Army GE 60-ton switcher was used in the early years. In 1992, the GE was replaced with an SW900. The JCAC interchanges with BNSF (formerly Santa Fe.) Customers include CFS Sauer Foods, DuPont Nutrition & Health, Kerry Ingredients, deElliotte Company, Steel & Pipe Supply, Cedar Creek LLC, JBS Swift and Wausau Supply.
