Company History: OAR was established as a subsidiary of Georgia-Pacific Corporation in 1982 to operate a two and a half mile line from the parent company’s Leaf River Pulp Mill to a connection with Illinois Central Gulf in New Augusta, Mississippi. In 2004, G-P sold the mill and the railroad to Koch Cellulose. In recent years, OAR retired their GP9 and now operate with an NW2 and an MP15DC.
