We just added two cool new features to assist people with managing their collections.

Collector Valuation. Now, when you view an item, you can see what other collectors think it is worth. We won't tell you who has it, because that information is private, but we will tell you the average value computed across all other collectors who own that item. This can help you determine how much you should pay for an item when shopping on eBay, or how much you might get if you decide to sell the item. This information is valuable whether or not you use the TroveStar Classified Marketplace, eBay or Facebook to feed your need to collect.

Better support for Foreign Currency. Now you can decide your preferred currency is Euros, British Pounds or Japanese Yen. The system will then translate and calculate values from eBay and other sources into the currency of your choice. You may also specify one currency as your preferred currency for shopping, and a different currency for each of your personal collections.

So let's imagine you collect model trains. You are considering buying a cool Japanese Shinkansen and you see one on eBay for sale. You are not sure what it is worth. Let's also imagine you live in France and you value your personal train collection in Euros. TroveStar will look at the other collector's value for your desired model in Yen and then convert it to EUR for you so you can make a better informed decision as to whether the eBay seller is asking too much for that train you want. As stated above it won't tell you anything about which user has the train (we take people's privacy seriously), simply how much the average value (converted to Euros) collectors think an item is worth. Cool, right?
