This former Santa Fe EMD F45 carries the fictitious number 441. Great Northern F45s carried the numbers GN 427 through 440. All Great Northern F45s were factory painted in GN Big Sky Blue, white, and grey colors. They were all built in 1969 and were powered by EMD 645E3 20-cylinder engines that generated 3,600 horsepower.
This restored EMD F45 locomotive is like the Great Northern F45 diesels that once rolled past the Izaak Walton Inn. It's now a luxury hotel room with oak floors, a leather comfort sleeper sofa, native Montana Argillite stone fireplace. and bronze fixtures.
