Prototype History:
This is the largest Schnabel car, and the largest freight car ever built. It was built for Combustion Engineering by Krupp Industries of West Germany, in 1982. The carrying capacity is 1,779,260 lbs and is more than 231 feet long when empty and up to 345 feet long with a load.
