Description:
I love pectoral necklaces and Margot de Taxco’s “cornucopia” design is one of the best examples from Mexico’s golden silversmithing era. Weight, attention to design and execution, finishing, proportions, all is perfect – and the repousse with its strong sense of movement is simply flawless. The necklace measures 15″ or just above it long (wearable; laid out flat it’s 14 3/4″ yet the curve in the central part adds wearable length to it). The pectoral part is 3 3/4″ wide by 1 3/8″ tall and the necklace's width at chain is 1/2″. Weighing 79.0 grams it is fully and appropriately marked with Margot de Taxco’s signature as well as des. no 5410 and Eagle 16 assay mark and dates in the 1950s.
