Company History:
The CRB&Lco was established around 1900 in the area that would become Richwood, West Virginia at the confluence of the North and South Forks of the Cherry River. A standard gauge logging railroad operation was quickly built to deliver logs and other supplies to the mill. A railbus was later acquired to move employees around the property. The first diesel locomotive was acquired in 1954 and within 2 years they had a fleet of three GE 70-tonners. By 1964, the mill and railroad had closed and the locomotives were sold. #2 became Modesto & Empire Traction #603. Another was sold to a mill in Louisiana and the last went to the Dominican Republic.
