Prototype History: A semi-trailer truck (more commonly semi truck or simply "semi") is the combination of a tractor unit and one or more semi-trailers to carry freight. A semi-trailer attaches to the tractor with a fifth-wheel coupling (hitch), with much of its weight borne by the tractor. The result is that both the tractor and semi-trailer will have a distinctly different design than a rigid truck and trailer.
Road Name History:
Mayflower Transit, LLC is a moving company founded in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1927 by Conrad M. Gentry and Don F. Kenworthy. In March 1995, it was acquired by UniGroup, a $1.7 billion transportation and relocation services company with headquarters in suburban St. Louis, Missouri.[1] Mayflower-United is known for its robust network of independent contractors who service customers on a local level. Mayflower's Operations division and its Customer Service arm remain elusive and reminiscent of a shadow corporation.

Mayflower operates as an agent owned co-op to coordinate loads, packing, and third-party services. While each agent maintains their own local and Intrastate business the co-op operates in the interstate and international service lines.
Brand/Importer Information: Con-Cor has been in business since 1962. Many things have changed over time as originally they were a complete manufacturing operation in the USA and at one time had upwards of 45 employees. They not only designed the models, but they also built their own molds, did injection molding, painting, printing and packaging on their models.

Currently, most of their manufacturing has been moved overseas and now they import 90% of their products as totally finished goods, or in finished components. They only do some incidental manufacturing today within the USA.

Important Note: The Con-Cor product numbering can be very confusing. Please see here in the article how to properly enter Con-Cor stock numbers in the TroveStar database.
