Company History:
The NACR was the result of the 1983 spinoff from Illinois Central Gulf of their line between Nashville and Hopkinsville, Tennessee. This route was originally part of the Tennessee Central which Illinois Central had acquired after the closure of that company in 1968. They received some notoriety for their fleet of TOFC trailers that could be seen around the country for a short time. The line was officially abandoned in 1986.
