Company History: The YDC was built in 1954 to connect the Lynnville Mine (coal) to the Ohio River docks at Yankeetown, Indiana 22 miles away. Over the years, YDC ran a trio of FM H-12-44’s, a former Seaboard SD35, and five SD38-2’s including, reportedly, the first two ever built. Yankeetown Dock is gone now. Squaw Creek Southern has operated this line since 2007.
