Fort Worth & Western

Company History: The Fort Worth and Western Railroad (reporting mark FWWR) is a Class III short-line railroad headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. Operating only within the state of Texas, its main freight service route is between Carrollton, Fort Worth and Brownwood.

The Fort Worth & Western launched in 1988 as a 6 mile spin-off of Burlington Northern in the Fort Worth, Texas area. Today they are a 276 mile mini-regional running from Fort Worth southwest to San Angelo Junction with branches to Gorman, Cleburn, Denton and Carollton. In relative size, they fall between Pittsburgh & Lake Erie and Green Bay & Western.
