Stratford Blue

Company History: Originally, the Stratford Blue bus company began operating under the Stratford-upon-Avon Blue Motor name on April 1, 1927. The routes for this bus service included town services, rural country routes and longer services as far as Birmingham and Oxford.

Stratford-upon-Avon (or Stratford) is a market town/parish in the Stratford-on-Avon District in Warwickshire, England (about 90 miles) north west London. It is the birthplace of William Shakespeare, 16th century poet and playwright.

The company ran for close to 45 years and ended operations in December 1970 after two years as a National Bus Company subsidiary. On January 1, 1971, it was absorbed into Midland Red, whose successor is Stagecoach Midlands.
