Beaufort & Morehead

Company History: The BMH was established in 1937 to take over the lease of the Atlantic & North Carolina line from Beaufort to Morehead City, North Carolina from the original lessor, the original Norfolk Southern. The Beaufort & Morehead lasted until 1986 when it was succeeded by Carolina Rail Services. The “Route of the Jets” refers to the tank cars of jet fuel handled by the line.
