Company History: This 50 mile line operates the terminal trackage around the Port of Brownsville, Texas plus a line into the city of Brownsville itself. The track is owned by the Brownsville Navigation District and was operated until 1984 by Missouri Pacific. At that point, the Brownsville & Rio Grande International was established to operate the line. The BRG operates 6 freight yards, rosters (at last count) 9 end-cab switchers, 3 hood units and about 1,000 freight cars.
