Company History:
The EJR opened in 1905 as a subsidiary of Tidewater Oil Company and today operates 2 miles of industrial trackage in and around the International-Matex Tank Terminal in Bayonne, New Jersey. In the diesel era, EJR has had a trio of GE switchers (between 65 and 89 tons), an SW900 and an SW8.
Successor/Parent History:
Tidewater Oil Company (rendered as "Tide Water Oil Company" from 1887 to 1936) was a major petroleum refining company during that period. Tidewater was sold many times during its existence. Brands included Tydol, Flying A, and Veedol.
Brief History:
