Fulton County (2005)
Company History:
The FCR was opened in 2005 by the OmniTRAX shortline group to serve the Fulton County Industrial Park in Georgia. They have 20 miles of track within the industrial park serving 40 customers. The biggest customers are Americold Logistics, Amware, CKS Packaging, Evergreen Sweeteners, Owens Corning, Saddlecreek Corporation and Sunny Delight foods. The FCR moves more than 150 cars in a typical week.
This line is frequently confused with the Fulton County Railroad (FC) whose 13 mile, one-customer line between Argos and Rochester, Indiana is, at last word, operated by Elkhart & Western under a trackage rights agreement. There is also no connection between either of these lines and/or the Fulton County Narrow Gauge in Illinois (merged by CB&Q in 1908.)
