Company History:
The LSRC was born in 1992 when Huron Acquisition Co. bought the Detroit & Mackinac Railroad and changed the name. Huron Acquisition was led by former D&M Vice President Jim George. The line runs from Flint, north to Saginaw, Bay City and Pinconning where the line splits. One leg heads northeast Alpena. The other leg heads northwest to Gaylord, all on Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. Today, LSRC runs 375 miles of line.
Brief History:
