Company History: Geaux Geaux Railroad (because it’s in Louisiana, it’s pronounced Go-Go) was launched by the Watco shortline group on the first day of 2018 to be the designated operator of 26 miles of line owned by Amzak Capital Management. The system map is shaped like a “7” with the base in Baton Rouge. It runs north to the town of Slaughter then west to St. Francisville. The primary customer is sprawling paper mill owned by Hood Container Of Louisiana between St. Francisville and Port Hudson. In 2021, Geaux Geaux’s sister railroad Bogalusa Bayou Railroad bought the right of way from Amzak Capital Management and assigned Geaux Geaux to operate it (which they already were.)

Successor/Parent History: The Watco shortline group is known for painting locomotives in special schemes for universities and even high schools along their lines.
