Nashville & Western
Company History:
The NWR was launched in 2000 as a subsidiary of the Nashville & Eastern. They operate 18 miles of line from downtown Nashville, Tennessee to Ashland City. The line is powered with a pair of GE B23-7’s. The NWR was purchased along with parent Nashville & Eastern in November, 2018 by RJ Corman who assumed operation the following January.
Successor/Parent History:
R.J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC is a privately held railroad holding company with its corporate headquarters located in Nicholasville, KY. It was owned by Richard J. Corman, who established the company in 1973, and ran it until his death on August 23, 2013. The company owns short-line railroad lines in Nine states (Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia) and offers other railroad, warehousing and aviation services throughout the United States.
Brief History:
The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC.
