Company History:
The NCRR was established in 1992 after a California agency took control of Southern Pacific’s former Northwestern Pacific subsidiary, saving it from abandonment. The NCRR was established to operate the north end of the line from Willits to Eureka that had previously been operated by the failed Eureka Southern. This operation lasted only until 1995 when severe flooding in the Eel River Canyon destroyed much of the railroad.
Brief History:
The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
