Company History: The CIRwy opened in 1900 as an electric interurban and streetcar line from Ashland, Kentucky (on the south bank of the Ohio River) east to Huntington, West Virginia. They also supplied streetcar service to those two cities. The company was sold and reorganized in 1908 as the Ohio Valley Electric Railway. The last of the original CIRwy route was pulled up in 1938.
Successor/Parent History: The Camden Interstate Railway was sold and reorganized in 1908 as the Ohio Valley Electric Railway
