Company History: The COLO was the product of the 1938 reorganization of the Colorado-Kansas Railroad with a 22 mile line from Pueblo northwest to Stone City, Colorado. The power for this line was a former Fox & Illinois Union electric box motor that had been converted with a gas engine. Stone City was the source for Turkey Creek Sandstone used in a number of buildings in Pueblo. The Colorado Railroad closed in 1957.
Brief History: The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
