Company History: The NACR was the result of the 1983 spinoff from Illinois Central Gulf of their line between Nashville and Hopkinsville, Tennessee. This route was originally part of the Tennessee Central which Illinois Central had acquired after the closure of that company in 1968. They received some notoriety for their fleet of TOFC trailers that could be seen around the country for a short time. The line was officially abandoned in 1986.
Brief History:
The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
