Company History: The WBCR was established in 1997 to take over operation from the bankrupt Indiana Hi-Rail of the line from Van Buren to Craigville, Indiana. This line had been part of a mainline of Nickel Plate Road (previously Clover Leaf Route) from Toledo to St. Louis. In 2003, a mile and a half of the line on the Craigville end was transferred to the Big 4 Terminal Company. WBCR continues to operate the rest of the line. The locomotive fleet consists of two former Illinois Central GP10’s. WBCR’s biggest customer is Weaver Popcorn in Van Buren with several other farm related businesses also contributing traffic.
Brief History:
The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
