Company History: In 2000 the city of Orangeville, Ontario bought the 34 mile line from Orangeville to a junction with the Canadian Pacific just outside Mississauga, Ontario from Canadian Pacific. The OBRY was established by the Cando Contracting family of shortlines to operate the property. In addition to freight service, in 2004 OBRY began operation of the Credit Valley Explorer excursion train. The scenic highlight of the line is the 1,145 foot trestle over the Credit River. In 2018, Cando Contracting announced they would not seek to renew as designated operator of the line. The excursion train service ended and the Trillium Railway shortline group took over management of the OBRY.
