Company History: The SAV was launched by the Patriot Rail shortline group to serve 7 miles of track in the McClellan Business Park a few miles northeast of Sacramento, California. The park was built on the former McClellan Air Force Base. Traffic includes aggregates, farm products, bio-fuels, chemicals, oil, lumber, food, industrial products, LPG, machinery, steel, scrap paper, cardboard, petroleum products, coke, plastics, pumice, fly ash and pipe. Operations began in 2008.

Successor/Parent History: Patriot Rail operates 12 regional and freight short line railroads, a scenic rail excursion train, and five rail-related services companies with over 600 total rail miles across the United States.

Service capabilities include railcar storage, railcar repair and maintenance, railway clean-up and transfer, tank car cleaning and environmental services, contract switching, transloading, engineering services, excursion railroads, real estate, and track access.
