Transportation Company - Tulsa-Sapulpa Union - Railroad

Company History: The TSU first appeared as a result of the 1943 re-naming of the Sapulpa Union Railroad. It was the result of the merger of the Oklahoma Union Railway and the Sapulpa & Interurban Railway, both traction lines in the Sooner State. By 1943, the 10 mile line ran between Tulsa and Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Passenger service had ended a decade before but the trolley wire remained in place and freight traffic was handled with electric freight motors. The wire was de-energized and the TSU was dieselized in 1960. In recent years, TSU became the designated operator of a 13 mile Union Pacific line from Tulsa to Jenks. Today, customers include St. Gobain Glass, Prescor, Greenbay Packaging, Atlantis Plastics, CG Martin, Technotherm, Sinclair Oil, Kentube, Word Industries, Pepsi Cola, and Kimberly Clark.
