Prototype History:
The Vectron is a locomotive series made by Siemens Mobility, introduced in 2010 in four prototype versions: diesel, multi-system, and both AC and DC electric power. The Vectron series is reconfigurable and modular, with a Bo'Bo' wheel arrangement, and is intended as the successor to the EuroSprinter family of locomotives.

The Vectron is available in the following variants:
  • MS: Multi-System locomotive with 6400 kW (~)/ 6000 kW (3 kV =)/ 3500 kW (1,5 kV =) power rating and 160 or 200 km/h top speed.
  • AC high power: Alternating Current locomotive with 6400 kW power rating and 160 or 200 km/h top speed (German series BR 193)
  • AC medium power: Alternating Current locomotive with 5600 kW power rating and 160 km/h top speed.
  • DC medium power: Direct Current locomotive with 5200 kW power rating and 160 or 200 km/h top speed (German series BR 191)
  • DE: Diesel-Electric locomotive with 2400 kW and 160 km/h top speed (German series BR 247)
  • DM: Dual Mode locomotive for 15 kV AC voltage and Diesel motor with 2000 kW power rating and 160 km/h top speed (German series BR 248).

Road Name History:
