Company History: The BCC&SW was chartered in 1882 as the Susquehanna & Southwestern Railroad but changed their name the following year. The goal was to build a 100 mile line from the area around Williamsport, Pennsylvania to Clearfield County. The company lasted just four years before slipping into bankruptcy and being reorganized as the Beech Creek Railroad in 1886. Four years later, it was part of the New York Central system.
Brief History: The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
