Company History: The CT&S was built as a subsidiary of the Tschudy Lumber Company in 1912, building an 18 mile line from Trumann southwest to Weona, Arkansas. The fleet included five Heislers and a 4-6-0 they picked up secondhand from Pittsburgh & Lake Erie. Logs made up most of the traffic. The line paralleled the Cotton Belt who feared that the CT&S would fall into the hands of an unfriendly competitor. Sometime after 1926, with the logging completed, Cotton Belt paid the lumber company $200,000 to abandon most of the line and took over operation of what was left.

Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
