Company History: The CSB&NI was established in 1907 to acquire the Northern Indiana Railway, an electric interurban system linking South Bend, Mishwaka, Elkhart, Goshen, and Michigan City, Indiana plus routes into southern Michigan. Riders continued to refer to the line as the “Northern Indiana.” Interurban operations ended in 1934.
